Happy Earth-G/Nightbird Appreciation Day, y'all.
I'm glad I could upload this before *The-G could kill me for keeping it a secret from him. I swear everything will be explained to you, G.
But seriously, this painting and this day were WELL-DESERVED. I admin a club where I do nothing and have been a part of many groups whose admins don't do anything. But Earth-G isn't that. G always takes the time to look at every submission and compliment it. And getting a compliment from someone you respect as both an artist and a person is just grand. This day is to thank you, G, for bringing us all together and giving us a group to be nerds; but it's also to thank you for being you: a mentor, a friend, and just an all-around nice guy. Thank you for everything. Oh, and if you want this, just note me your address and I'll mail it out to you.
About the painting (it needs a blurb, sure why not?):
Looks so much better in person. Especially the hair.
Also I originally intended for there to be a dark blue, starry-night background, but as I was painting this, I just ended up liking how it was better. Didn't want a background to ruin it.
I'm sorry you're such a ginger here, G. I always forget that the closest thing to brown I have is Burnt Sienna and that that's a lot more red than I think it is. *hangs head in shame*
The hardest part was actually that font. I looked at the Nightbird "logo" from one of the comic book covers and I was like "nah, too simple." 
And then I remembered that *The-G's favorite movie is Fight Club. So I found a font generator to copy "Nightbird" into and voila. I hope this means a little something extra special to you, G.

This is all so lovely, I'm very, very sad that I missed it. I am a jerk. 
BUT! You guys didn't need me at all, you did a truly amazing job and I'm sure that *The-G felt so loved and appreciated! This was a wonderful idea you had, and I just have to say that you're a pretty amazing person too.
Not everybody would organize something like this. 
As for the painting, it's gorgeous!
I really love the composition, and I think it was a great choice to leave the sky white. It's very striking. :nod; I think you did a great job with the typography too (and I'm a type nut, so I don't say that lightly 
). Nightbird himself looks fantastic, very noble and serene; different from how we usually see him, but totally perfect for him at the same time. 
So to sum up: you are a fantastic person, this is a fantastic painting, and even though I missed it all I am delighted to be going through these appreciation pics and seeing what you and everybody else did for G.
